Areas of Rowan County in abnormally dry drought stage
Once again we have areas in the county in abnormally dry conditions. The current streak of days we have had with no measurable rainfall in the county is at 32. 6th all time and just 6 days shy of the record 38 straight days set in November of 2000.
Wednesday Weather Update
After the election has ended and we now know who are leaders are going to be. I know there is much worry and concern around the country today. One thing I can guarantee you for sure. The sun will rise and set as it always has no matter what happened last night with the election.
Sunday Weather Update
Another great fall like day on tap for us today with highs slightly warmer than yesterday. We will top out around 70º

The real story for today's weather will be everything that is going to happen tonight. There is a lot coming tonight in terms of beginnings and ends. We could also see first frost of the season in some areas around the county. This morning was cool but tomorrow morning will be even cooler.
Friday Weather Update
The feel of Fall has finally returned to Rowan County! The good news is the seasonal temperatures are going to be around for the foreseeable future.
Thursday Weather Update
As we close in on the last day of our current autumn heat wave we can look ahead to cooler temperatures starting tonight as the cold font moves through. There is also a chance for some rain with the front however, we will not get enough to provide any real relief.

We are mid way through the week and once again it is not very fall like outside. The high today will top our around 81º

We are off and running for the month of November. Can you believe it is November already???? If you were trying to figure it out based on the weather you may think it's still Summer. At least for today we are closer to more seasonal like temperatures around the county.

2016 - 2017 Long Range Winter Forecast
Every year on Halloween Day I release the Long Ranger Winter Forecast for Rowan County. Now please let me start out by saying as you know from my style of forecasting I am not a big fan of any long range forecast. The reason for that is there is a lot of uncertainty beyond 4 to 5 days out.
