Lightning safety
Each year in the United States, more than 400 people are struck by lightning. On average, between 55 and 60 people are killed; hundreds of others suffer permanent neurological disabilities. Most of these tragedies can be avoided with a few simple precautions.
Staying safe when high winds, hail, and tornadoes strike
When your area is under a tornado warning, or if you see a tornado approaching, you should seek shelter immediately! Most injuries associated with high winds are from flying debris, so remember to protect your head.
Rainy Tuesday
If you ever wanted a good day to sit inside and read a book or binge on Netflix. This is a great day to do that. Rain will be around most of the day and the temperatures will stay chilly for this time of year.

Raining on Sunday
The sun is out as of the time of this blog post. However, things will change as we move through the morning hours. We will see rain showers start to move into the county between 10 & 11am this morning.

From that point on rain will continue around the county throughout the day. We could see isolated chances as we get into the afternoon hours. With the rain in place during the biggest portion of the daytime hours we will not see temperatures as high as we have been. We will still make it into the 70's with a high of 71º

Winds will become gusty at times as we move through the day. We will see some gust between 20 & 25 miles per hour.

As we begin to wrap up your Sunday we will see lows drop down to around 54º

As far as rainfall accumulation we could see around a quarter of an inch by the time we wrap the day here in Rowan County.

I will provide updates right here and on social media throughout the day and evening. As always thank you foe following Rowan County Weather!
