January and how it stacks up so far.
We are now 15 days into the new year. So let's see how the first 15 days have treated us so far and how they compare to January's of the past.
Sunday Weather Update
Cloud cover over the county as we start this Sunday Morning. The clouds will clear later today. I will tell you more about that in a moment. The high today will top out at 62º

Saturday Weather Update
It is going to be a cloudy overcast Saturday. The temperature is back into a more seasonal feel. The high today will top out at around 50º

Friday Weather Update
Earlier this week we were dealing with single digit low temperatures. So it's only right in North Carolina to hit 70º by the end of the week right? That's where we are going to land today. The high temperature will top out at 71º
Thursday Weather Update
The warm up continues around the county today. I have already had quite a few of you reach out to me commenting on how nice it feels outside right now. Things are going to stay like this for the most part over the next 6-10 days as we are in the early stages of a January Thaw.
The january Thaw Continues
The kids are back in school, the snow & ice are melting and things are becoming business as usual around the county again. We are now on day 2 of a big warm up. Temperatures will gradually warm in the upper 60's by Friday. The high for today top out at around 49º
Tuesday Weather Update
Today we will get back above freezing for the first time in several days. This begins a warmup that by the end of the week will have us with highs near 70º Baby steps first though. Today the high will top out at around 41º
Cold Sunday Forecast
If you have stepped outside already today you know that #RoCold is in full effect around the county this morning. It is going to be extremely cold today. I know your kids want to play outside in the snow. Let them. I am letting mine. Just limit their time to at least 10 or 15 minutes.
Extreme Cold Weather or as I like to call it #RoCold has returned
Now that we all have enjoyed the snowfall and have had sometime to play in it. The even more serious side of this weather system moves into the county and the area. I coined the phrase #RoCold a few years ago when "Extreme Cold" air moved into the county.
A look at the aftermath of the Snowfall here at the weather center.
One of my favorite things to do is take the #RoCoDrone out and get some great video and photo's of weather. The best time is one of the rarest times for us in Rowan County. That's when there is snow on the ground. As I was forecasting this storm and reporting on conditions during the storm.
