The heat continues to stay on this Thursday with no relief from rain in sight and dew points making things uncomfortable outside.

Wednesday Weather Update
We are midway through this short workweek and the heat is certainly on as Summer temps are refusing to go quietly into the night. We are kind of in that time of the year where you walk out the door in the morning and you almost wish you had a light jacket.
A Look Back At Meteorological Summer
Meteorological Summer runs from June 1st through August 31st. June, July & August are typically the hottest months of the year and that's how Summer records are judged.Now that we have gone through those months for this year.
Tuesday Weather Update
The temperatures are warming back up today but the dew points are still low from the high pressure keeping dry air in place. That will make things feel pretty good outside today.
The high today will top out around 83º
Labor Day Weather Update
Today is certainly going to be a good day for cookouts around the county. The temperature will be slightly warmer than the past few days and the dew points will make it feel a little sticky outside but not enough to keep you form enjoying outdoor plans.
A Saturday Weather Update thats pleasant
I could sure get used to waking up to Saturday Morning's like this one. It is simply going to feel great outside today.

The longer Hermine stays south & east the better things stay for us
We have certainly had to focus a lot on Hermine and how that storm would interact with the stalled front we have over the area. As of right now Hermine and the stalled front are both staying to our south and east.
Thursday Weather Update
There are a lot of moving parts that will have an impact on the weather here in the county over the next few days. The big story is Tropical Storm Hermine. The storm should continue to track off to the northeast which will not have much of an impact on us at all.
Wednesday Weather Update
It's been a while since we have had some relief in the form of rain here in the county. We will get some isolated opportunities for that later this afternoon and evening. I am not looking for anything to get to excited about as the chances are minimal and very isolated.

One of the things I love about reporting the weather here in Rowan County is the great photos that I get during weather events. I mean lets face it. Rowan County is beautiful and some of our sunsets are the best in the world in my humble opinion!
