The Drought Has Ended For Rowan County
Yes if you read that title you can see that drought conditions have been completely eradicated for Rowan County. The picture below released form the climatology office this morning shows we are completely drought free in the county.
Thursday Weather Update
The rains have moved through and we will see a dry Thursday for the remainder of the day. The high today will top out at around 60º
Wednesday Weather Update
Sunshine will give way to clouds and rain as we move through the day. The warm temperatures we have been dealing with will start to move out as a cold front begins to move in. Things over the next several days are going to feel more seasonal around the county and the area.
Tuesday Weather Update
For the first time in a few days we are drying out. It has been a wet January with snow as well. The new drought monitor comes out Thursday. I will be shocked if we are still in any form of drought here in the county. Let's take a look at what you can expect today. Sunshine is on the menu!
Monday Weather Update
What a wet weekend we just went through. Rainfall accumulations at the weather center of over 2.5 inches just for Friday - Sunday. The rain is starting to push out but we are not quite clear yet.
Sunday Severe Weather Update
We have been talking about the severe weather potential for Sunday over the past few days. The good news is even though we are under a slight chance for severe weather today.
Saturday Weather Update
Rain continues in the county later today. We will see a few rounds of heavy rain later this afternoon. The high today will top out at around 62º
Friday Weather Update
We have had rain move through the county already this morning. Things will dry out a little as we move through the day. However, we are not done with rain yet. Plenty still to come for the weekend. The high today will top out at around 61º

The sun is out now but things get wet late this evening. No need in changing any outdoor plans for today as the rain will be moving i very late in the evening. The high today will top out at around 60º
A Wet Weekend Ahead
As we close in on the weekend we will see rain chances start to amp up. There is a chance we could see some severe weather on Sunday as well. I wanted to take a few moments to break it down for you.
