Rowan County has enjoyed several days of cooler, drier air thanks to high pressure sitting over the region. That trend will continue through the end of the workweek, but by Saturday and Sunday, the forecast begins to shift just a bit.

Rowan County is getting a refreshing change in the weather this week, and it may feel more like late September than late August. A cold front that moved through the Carolinas has opened the door for cooler, drier air, setting up several days of fall-like conditions.

Rowan County will see one more round of showers and thunderstorms today as a cold front approaches from the northwest. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a general thunderstorm risk, meaning a few storms are possible this afternoon and evening.

Rowan County is about to get an early preview of fall. A cold front pushing through on Monday will bring noticeably cooler and drier air that will linger through much of the upcoming week.
