Moderate Drought Conditions taking over the county
As we continue to have more and more dry days versus wet days the drought conditions continue to spread through the state and the county. All but the extreme northwest portion of the county is now in a moderate drought status.
Moderate Drought Creeping Its Way Into The RoCo
It has certainly been a crazy year for us with the weather here in Rowan County. We are currently sitting on 45.06 inches of rainfall officially for the year. This puts on 4.75 inches above normal for the year.
Our first dose of winter
We have made it to Friday. The talk for the week has been will we get snow and if so how much. As we have progressed through the week I have brought accumulation totals up. You have to keep in mind. The roads will stay wet so this will only be accumulations on grassy surfaces.

We have made it to another December and for the 2nd year in a row. Rowan County Weather will partner with NORAD to track Santa Claus as he makes his yearly journey to see all of the good little boys and girls of Rowan County again this year.
