We are coming up on the end of the work week and rain starts to move in later this evening for us. We will also see temperatures a little higher today than they have been. The high today will top out at around 58º
Isolated Showers Possible Friday Night
As we are coming to the close of another work week. We could see some late evening isolated showers have an impact on events around the county. The good news is these showers will begin to usher in warmer air. The bad news is they will likely be around into the day on Saturday.

It is one of the coldest days we have had in sometime around the county. We will only see a high of around 39º today
Tuesday Weather Update
The rains are starting to move out but the cold air will remain in place. We will see a mix of sun and clouds over Rowan County throughout the remainder of the day. The high today will only top out at about 50º

We are off and running for another work week. Clouds will be around today as we are locked in with cold air for the next few days. The high today will be a very chilly 44º

A quick Saturday Morning Update on the winter weather expected in the area tonight
From the outset of the talk about snow this weekend I have stayed true to my forecast of a cold rain event with some wet snow mixing in. The models have continued to indicate that and as of this morning the short range models that are now looking at the storm are pointing to the same conclusion.
Winter Weather Update for this weekend
As we get closer to the weekend more models start to come into play on helping to forecast the winter weather event everyone is focused on for this weekend. The latest model to come into the fray is the NAM Model and much like the others the data is all over the place.

There been a lot of chatter going around on social media about the chance for a winter storm this weekend in the area. I have provided some updates as this forecast started to break on how I feel we are more likely to see a cold rain.
Winter Storm Chatter for this weekend
I mentioned yesterday that buzz was generating over the possibility of winter weather this weekend. The chances of the winter weather occurring are pretty slim even to this point. I would give it about a 10% chance at this point.
