Rain Chances in the forecast today.
Happy Friday everyone! As we head into the weekend we will be dealing with some rain chances. Those chances move in starting today. Lets take a look at how the day will breakdown for us.
Total Solar Eclipse 2017
On Aug. 21, 2017, people across the United States will see the sun disappear behind the moon, turning daylight into twilight, causing the temperature drop rapidly and revealing massive streamers of light streaking through the sky around the silhouette of the moon.
Rain Chances are better today
Good Sunday morning everyone! The heat will be on again today but our chance for some relief in the form of rain are much better today than they have been. The high will top out at around 93º today before the rains move in and start to cool us off.
Another Hot Day On Tap. Slight Chance For Rain
Good Saturday Morning everyone! We have yet another hot day on tap today. The heat index will reach over 100º today in the county. Again please stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity.
Extreme Heat This Weekemd
Hopefully you read the tips on the cover photo very carefully. You are going to need those tips this weekend! We have our hottest temperatures of the year coming this Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Our best chance of hitting triple digit temps so far this summer.
Hot Friday and possibly the Hottest day of the Year
Good Friday morning everyone! As we come to the close of another work week. We are closing it out in a blaze. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far for the county. However today will take that title away and be even hotter than yesterday.
Weekly Road Closure Report 7/10/17
Good Monday Morning! It's been a few weeks since my last Road Closure Report. ere are the current projects slated to finish this year around the county. If you don't see a project listed. The NCDOT does not have a closure date for this year on the project.
Strong to Severe storms possible this afternoon and evening
The storms prediction center has issued a slight risk for severe weather today. and Rowan County is inside of the area that is likely to see strong to severe storms.
Friday Weather Update
As we close out the work week we will see a few isolated showers and possible a thunderstorm move through the county. As of 9:30am this morning showers were just northeast of the county and moving in our direction.
Afternoon and Evening showers and storms possible today
You can expect a repeat of afternoon showers and storms once again today. These showers and storms will be much like yesterdays storms. Not expecting anything severe but CAPE levels (Thunderstorm Fuel) are high enough to get a few strong storms firing in the area.
