Rain returns to the county late this afternoon

Monday, April 17, 2017 - 8:31am

We have been fortunate enough to get through a pleasant Easter Weekend so all of the wonderful festivities around the county were able to go on as planned. Now that we are  back into another work week rain is starting to work its way back into the picture. Things are dry outside right now but that looks to change around 4 to 5 pm this afternoon and evening.

The broken line of showers you see picture above will move into the county around 4 to 5 pm this afternoon. As we march into the evening hours that line will fill in the gaps and rainfall will move through the county. Things appear to continue off and on into the evening hours so keep the rain gear handy if you are heading out later this evening.

Looking for accumulations of around a quarter to a half an inch around the county as these showers move through. Not expecting any severe weather at all. These are your basic garden variety showers.

The high today will top out at around 82º before those rain showers move in and start to cool things off a bit.

We will bottom out with a low of around 57º this evening as we move through the overnight hours into Tuesday morning. I will continue to post updates right here and on social media as showers begin to move into the county later this afternoon. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
