Charlotte FC vs. Seattle Sounders a look at the season opener

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Friday, February 21, 2024) – Charlotte FC opens the 2025 MLS season tonight, as they travel to Lumen Field to face the Seattle Sounders on February 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Charlotte FC are in good form entering the match, as they went undefeated in not only their preseason matches in Miami, FL but in the Coachella Valley Invitational as well. The Club made some key additions over the winter transfer window, including signing European star Wilfried Zaha, as well as adding Eryk Williamson and re-signing Pep Biel.

The two teams will meet up for the third time in Club history. They met most recently in June of 2023, where they drew 3-3 at Bank of America Stadium, with current players Patrick Agyemang and Ashley Westwood both contributing goals in the match. This meeting will be the first for Charlotte FC under Dean Smith as he enters his second season in charge.
