It is likely we start to see some precipitation around the county around midday Wednesday. Everything could start as a mix and as always dry air will be a factor to begin the event. So, it may take some time for anything to reach the ground. Precipitation as it starts will likely begin as a mix of snow/sleet and or freezing rain.

By the late afternoon a mix of snow and sleet can't be ruled out as you can see from the model image above there is a large area of warm air aloft to our southeast that very well could be over the county as well.

A mixed bag of precipitation is likley as we move into the evening hours as well with warm air aloft still near the county based on model data and soudings.

By late evening Wednesday dry air could bring the precipitation to an end however, not likely before changing to all snow as we transition to the overnight.

All snowfall is likely for a period of time during the overnight with colder air in place. So the Thursday morning commute could be a challenge as well.

We could see up to an inch of snowfall accumulation but please keep in mind that any sleet will steal away from these totals and the accumulation of snowfall could be less than an inch or even less than a half an inch.

As of thie time of the blog post and update ice and freezing rain are likley going to be just to our east and southeast. However, don't forget 50 miles can make all the difference. A shift of 50 miles in this system could give us nothing but a miserable cold rain or a better chance at more snow and less ice interaction.
