Bank of America 500 Weather Update

Today is race day at the Bank of America 500. It's raining now but things look good for the race to get underway and run in its entirety tonight. I will be there providing live in race updates to Slugger Labbe and Austin Dillon tonight. This is a big night as it is the first race in the round of 12 in the Chance for the Cup. Let's take a look at the forecast and what to expect.

The high today will top out around 72º at the track.

It's obviously going to be a wet soggy day and let's take a look at when the rain moves out and we begin to dry out for the running of tonights race.

As Hurricane Matthew starts to shift east during the day the rain will shift along with it. I believe most of the heavy rain starts moving out around midday and then we have light rain that will transition over to isolated spotty showers before totally clearing out around 5pm tonight. The key will be drier air that will move in from the west throughout the day as a low pressure system pushes Matthew east.

Only expecting about another three quarters of an inch to an inch of rain to fall on top of what's already fallen in the area. the rest of the morning and into the afternoon.
