Hurricane Matthew at this point unless something totally unexpected happens will have no impact on the Bank of America 500. Here is the latest as of the 11am advisory today.

Matthew has gained enough strength to once again be a Category 4 storm. The good news for the race is the storm is expected to turn eastward off the South Carolina Coast during the day on Saturday. This will help to clear the northeast flow of rain coming off the Atlantic toward the track and conditions will start to improve throughout the day at the track.

We will still be dealing with some gusty winds from Matthew at the track as gust could be as high as 40 miles per hour at times on Saturday.

This storm is still a monster and even though things are continuing to look up for the track don't let your guard down if you are ion the path of this storm and think its going to be alright where you are. Please follow all evacuation orders and put your life, your family's life and your pets life first!
As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
