Sporadic strong to marginally severe storms are possible on Friday over parts of the Southeast. ...
Storms will form as heating occurs as a front interacts with moisture over the Carolinas during the day Friday. This will make the atmosphere conducive for strong wind gusts and a marginal hail risk. Most likely any storms that form will be of the pop-up variety like we generally see during the summer months. Take the time before Friday morning to secure any loose items in your yard so you don't have to go out and search for them in the event a strong to severe storm passes over your home. Be sure to charge cell phones during the day Friday and make sure to have fresh batteries in your flashlights in the event you have a power outage Friday evening from any passing storm. Rowan County Weather will continue to provide updates as we move closer to Friday afternoon and evening when these storms could begin to pop-up.
