Good afternoon, Hornets families!
This is Principal Marvin Moore calling from Salisbury High School. When something occurs involving our school, I want to keep you informed and provide you with accurate information.
Earlier today, Salisbury High School received a phone call communicating a threat. School administration and law enforcement were immediately alerted, and the call was investigated while students evacuated the buildings. Local law enforcement arrived quickly and conducted a thorough search of the building. At around 2:00 pm, law enforcement determined that our campus was safe for students to return to class.
I encourage parents to use this opportunity as a springboard for conversations with your children about the seriousness of communicating threats in any situation and to help them understand that communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property is a Class H felony.
We in the Rowan-Salisbury School System and at Salisbury High School hold the safety of your children as our number one priority. We appreciate all that you do as parents to support the education and safety of all Salisbury HS students and working together allows us to provide the very best for our community.
Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon.
