A chat with Jessica Charman

For the first two seasons covering Charlotte FC I have gotten to know some great folks. One of those great folks is Jessica Charman. Jessica has become a role model not only for her daughter but so many in the soccer world and beyond. 

In the below interview you will find Jessica has dreamed of the opportunity to be a broadcaster since she was a little girl playing soccer on the boys’ teams and listening along to Reading FC broadcasts, growing up in Middlesex, England. She has worked hard to make it happen.

Charman accepted a soccer scholarship to play goalkeeper for Clayton State in the Atlanta area in part because the school would give her chances to hone broadcasting skills. Jessica has spent the first two seasons of the Charlotte Football Clubs existence as a broadcaster on WFNZ Sports radio and the Charlotte FC radio network. 

I asked Jessica for some time in this interview to give some insight to young women playing soccer in grade school and high school as they make their way to the next levels of their careers and beyond. You can watch the full interview below.
