For Charlotte FC the playoffs begin tonight

Charlotte FC made history on Saturday night, clinching the Club’s first-ever playoff berth with a 1-0 win over Inter Miami on Decision Day in front of 66,101 fans.

Now, attention turns to the Wild Card match, which pits the 8 seed against the 9 seed in a single-elimination match. Charlotte FC travel to the higher-seeded New York Red Bulls for this first match of the 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The winner of tonight’s match will advance to the Round One Best-of-3 series against FC Cincinnati, guaranteeing a home playoff match in Game 2 of the three-game series. Game 1 and (if necessary) Game 3 would be hosted in Cincinnati.

In the Wild Card round, no extra time will be played. If the match is tied after 90 minutes, a winner will be decided by an immediate penalty kick shootout.
