...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Piedmont North Carolina, including the
following counties, Cabarrus, Iredell, Mecklenburg and Rowan.

* WHEN...Until 130 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1029 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rainfall due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the past
hour.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area through midnight. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Huntersville, Kannapolis, Downtown Concord, Northeast
Charlotte, West Concord, Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson,
Harrisburg, Enochville, Coddle Creek Reservoir, Charlotte
Motor Speedway, Lake Norman and Doolie.

Flooding is most likely along Emerson Branch, Coddle Creek,
and Dye Creek.

should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the
depth of flooding observed.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
