Brynnlee Steger: Lightning strike victim tells her story
On Monday August 7th around 5pm severe weather moved into the county prompting a tornado warning for the southern portion of the county. Many residents were being impacted by a confirmed tornado and damaging straight line winds in other parts of the county. Parents and students along with faculty and staff were hunkered down in school hallways at open houses. The weather was impacting many of us but none more then 15-year-old Brynnlee Steger a Carson junior who works at the Landis pool. As severe weather was moving quickly through the county Brynnlee was quickly trying to shut down the Landis pool when she was struck by lightning. The video below is my interview with Brynnlee and what she experienced Monday night and over the following days with her message to everyone about the importance of lightning safety.
