MATCH PREVIEW: Charlotte FC vs. New England Revolution

Charlotte FC hosts the New England Revolution in the season opener at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday, February 25, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Let's start with the weather forecast since this is a weather site. The heaviest rain will likely move in during the overnight hours tonight and during the morning hours on Saturday. Most of the day will be a misty/drizzle event that will occur off and on. Potential accumulations are less than a quarter of an inch. The temperatures for the match will be in the 40's. So, bundle up and don't be surprised if there is drizzle or mist around to start the match. 

The match will kick off the 2023 Major League Soccer season with an open upper deck at Bank of America Stadium. Tickets are available starting at $15.

In last season’s inaugural campaign, CLTFC came up just short of a playoff spot after an impressive late-season surge under the leadership of Head Coach Christian Lattanzio. This year, with a full preseason under their belts, the team will be looking to surpass the success of year one, both on and off the field.

Saturday’s opponent is a familiar one as CLTFC beat the New England Revolution at Bank of America Stadium on March 19, 2022 to record the Club’s first-ever win. Karol Swiderski opened the 3-1 win with two goals before Ben Bender punctuated the victory with his first professional goal.

The Revolution finished 2022 on equal points with Charlotte FC, finishing one place below on tiebreakers. This season, they will be attempting to recapture the magic of 2021, where they captured the Supporters’ Shield title with a remarkable 73 points.
