First of all let's talk about the temperature swing. The high's yesterday hovered around 60º. Today we will be in the mid to upper 70's.

We will see isolated shower and storm chances and I think the biggest chance for that activity here in Rowan County comes between 4 & 6 pm.

If we see showers and storms move in they will come from the northwest and west. Basically just wrap around moisture from the low pressure system that has passed through the area.

I don't expect this to affect everyone in the county as these will be very isolated showers,

I think the best chance for an isolated storm in the county will be for residents living east of 85. Nothing severe to worry about just run of the mill storm chances.

Total accumulation will be around a tenth to a quarter of an inch for areas that get any rain today. What will fuel these isolated rain chances. Well it ill be a brief return of our old friend the sun. I expect these clouds to thin out around midday or just after.

That will give us some sunshine and with the saturation in the atmosphere already this will generate some lift to provide moisture into the cold air aloft to generate the isolated showers and storms that will pass through the area during the afternoon and early evening hours.

If you are heading out to the track. Plan for a slight chance of a passing shower or storm during the afternoon to early evening hours. Then we begin to dry out and yes the race will be on!
If you are going out to the track be safe and responsible. Otherwise enjoy your Saturday everyone! As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
