Tuesday Rainfall Update

Tuesday, May 17, 2016 - 10:54am

It's been a wet soggy Tuesday and that will continue off and on throughout the day today. You can expect the rainfall to get heavy at times during the afternoon hours as well. As we look to the rest of the day here's how things are shaping up.

Light rain will be around for the lunch hour but don't be surprised if a heavy isolated downpour happens in a few areas.

As we continue through the afternoon hours heavy downpours will be possible in isolated areas of the county.

Around the mid afternoon timeframe we may start to see some breaks in the rainfall and more of a transition to light rain and drizzle at times.

As we continue into the late afternoon hours we will transition into more of a light rain and drizzle as most of the heavy precipitation will be to our south and east.

Then as we begin to transition over to the evening hours we should begin to see pockets of light rain and drizzle with isolated activity at most.

Since most of the precipitation will be light you can expect rainfall totals to be anywhere from a tenth to a quarter of an inch around the county.

The highs will top out in the mid 70's today but with the rain there not much benefit to the high other than it not being a cold rain.

Stay dry everyone! As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
