This storm looks to affect the North Carolina Coastline the question at this point is how strong will it get. Lets first mention this system will not have any impact on Rowan County based on current model data. Let's take a look at the projected track of this system.

With the latest update form the National Hurricane Center this system is close to being considered a Tropical Storm and most likely will become one over the next few days. The projected path has the storm moving right along the Carolina Coast Line before moving back out to sea off the Virginia Coastline by Tuesday.

The above image is just a closer look at the projected path of the storm. Salisbury is listed on the left side oft he map and as you can see the storms path looks to stay well to our east.

Tropical Storms Force Winds are likely well inland from this storm however they are likely to remain off to our east. Again the area that will see the biggest impact will be the Carolina coastline.

Most of the heavy rainfall looks to stay off the Carolina coast as this system moves along the eastern seaboard. So do not expect to see anything close to the Catastrophic flooding like we have observed in the state of Texas with Hurricane Harvey. The heavier rain bands of this system will stay off the coast and this system will continue to move. Harvey has been stationary in the Gulf for days and looks to remain stationary for a few more days.
So in conclusion. There will be some chatter on social media and local news about this storm system that will pass along the Carolina coast. The storm will have an impact on the coast. It is not likely to have any impact for us here in Rowan County, I will continue to keep you updated right here and on social media over the next few days about this storm as updates come in. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
