Marginal Risk For Severe Weather This Evening

Friday, August 18, 2017 - 8:06am

We have reached the end of another work week. The rain chances are up for this evening and the Storms Prediction Center has us under a Marginal Risk for Severe Weather this evening

We will see showers and storms start to move into the county later this evening around the 6pm timeframe.

The total accumulation looks to be pretty light only about a quarter of an inch of rainfall. These storms may have more bark than bite with a lot of thunder and lightning.

The real story for today will be the high temperatures and the heat index. The high today will top out at around 92º

The Heat Index will be around 100º

Please be sure to limit outdoor activities and also please stay hydrated! Do not leave your children or pets unattended in your vehicle without the A/C on. I will provide updates right here and on social media throughout the day and the evening. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
