Davie County Forecast: Weekend Storm Chances Continue, Hotter Weather Arrives Next Week

Friday, June 26, 2026 - 3:19pm

Good Friday afternoon! Here's my latest forecast for Davie County.

The weather pattern remains fairly typical for late June, with hot afternoons, isolated thunderstorms, and an even hotter stretch of weather arriving during the middle of next week.

Saturday

Saturday will be mostly sunny and hot with afternoon temperatures climbing to around 93 degrees.

There is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 PM. While many locations will stay dry, scattered storms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening. Any stronger storm could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, and brief heavy rainfall.

Saturday night brings a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 PM, followed by partly cloudy skies with a low around 70 degrees.

Sunday

Sunday will feature another hot afternoon with highs near 93 degrees. A stray afternoon or evening thunderstorm can't be ruled out, but many locations will remain dry.

Early Next Week

Monday stays sunny with a high near 93 degrees, but the heat begins ramping up during the middle of the week.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures climb into the middle to upper 90s, with Wednesday reaching around 98 degrees. Combined with increasing humidity, heat index values are expected to climb above 100 degrees, and several days of dangerous heat are possible as we head toward the July 4th holiday.

If you'll be spending time outdoors next week, now is a good time to prepare. Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day.

My Forecast Highlights

  • Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms remain possible through the weekend.
  • Any storm that develops could produce gusty winds, frequent lightning, and brief heavy rainfall.
  • High temperatures remain in the lower 90s through Monday before climbing into the upper 90s by midweek.
  • Heat index values are expected to exceed 100° by the middle of next week.
  • I'll continue monitoring what looks to be a prolonged stretch of dangerous heat leading into the July 4th holiday.
