Davie County Forecast: Comfortable Today Before Summer Heat Builds This Weekend
Davie County gets a brief break from the heat today as slightly cooler and drier air settles into the region behind a departing cold front. However, the relief will be short-lived as temperatures steadily climb through the remainder of the week and into the weekend.
Today's Forecast
Mostly sunny skies are expected today with a high near 84 degrees. Light north winds and lower humidity levels will make it feel much more comfortable compared to recent days.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 61 degrees and calm winds, providing another pleasant evening across the county.
Temperatures Begin Climbing Thursday
Thursday marks the beginning of a warming trend as mostly sunny skies return and temperatures climb to around 90 degrees. South-southwest winds will gradually bring warmer and more humid air back into the area.
Friday will be even hotter with abundant sunshine and highs reaching the mid-90s. Davie County is forecast to top out near 94 degrees Friday afternoon.
Weekend Heat Takes Hold
The hottest weather of the forecast period arrives Saturday when highs reach around 95 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
Humidity levels will also increase through the weekend, pushing heat index values near or above 100 degrees during the afternoon hours. I'll continue monitoring the potential for Heat Advisory conditions, especially if humidity remains elevated and temperatures trend slightly warmer.
Anyone spending extended time outdoors this weekend should plan for frequent breaks, plenty of water, and limiting strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day.
Storm Chances Return Sunday
Most of the weekend remains dry, but the return of deeper moisture will bring back scattered afternoon thunderstorms by Sunday.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and hot with a high near 92 degrees. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after 2 PM, with some activity lingering into the evening before gradually diminishing.
Looking Ahead
Forecast guidance continues to indicate temperatures may ease slightly early next week before another warming trend develops by the middle of next week.
