Across North Carolina
Drought conditions remain widespread across North Carolina, with only isolated improvements this week.

Some areas saw minor improvement where light rain fell

Ongoing precipitation deficits and dry soil continue to drive drought conditions

Looking Ahead
A few shower chances return early next week, but widespread, beneficial rainfall is still lacking.

Even with everything starting to green up, Rowan County is still dealing with significant drought conditions. This warm stretch ahead will only increase evaporation, so we’ll need more than just a quick round of showers to turn things around.
