Once again I am bumping on my snowfall accumulation predictions. I am forecasting 1-3 inches of snowfall for Rowan County on Saturday now. 70% chance of snow for Saturday. We will see this all start as rain on Friday and then transition to all snow late Friday and into the early morning hours of Saturday. The models are all starting to come into agreement on accumulation. There are still some slight variances on where the heaviest snow band will set up for the storm. Let's take a look at the differences.

The model above is indicating we could see 2-4 inches of snow around the county on Saturday.

The Weather Predictions Center is giving us a 50% chance of seeing 2-4 inches of snow around the county on Saturday.

The NAM model above is predicting 4 - 5 inches around the county on Saturday with the heavy snow band just to our south and east. I will continue to monitor this to see if the band shifts back our way.

The GFS once again has taken a big aggressive swing. Showing us with the heavy snow band over the county giving us a chance in the model of 5 - 7 inches around the county. I think the model is a little to aggressive and overstated at this point.

The European Model above has a much tighter gradient on snowfall and shows the county with a range of 1-5 inches with the heavy snow band south and east of us. This is also another model I will monitor to see if that band shifts back our way.

The probability map above gives us a 40% chance of seeing at least 4 inches of snow around the county on Saturday. I will continue to monitor this information as well over the next 24-72 hours as well.
So to recap I am forecasting 1-3 inches of snowfall for Rowan County on Saturday now. 70% chance of snow for Saturday. We will see this all start as rain on Friday and then transition to all snow late Friday and into the early morning hours of Saturday.
