While temperatures will remain mild, relative humidity is expected to drop into the 20–25 percent range, and northwest wind gusts near 25 mph will continue through the afternoon. This combination of low humidity, warm air, and gusty winds will increase the risk of outdoor fires spreading quickly.
Residents are urged to use extreme caution with any outdoor burning. Even small fires can grow rapidly and become difficult to control under these conditions.
Before burning, please check with your local burn permitting authorities to confirm whether burning is allowed. Many counties issue temporary restrictions when fire danger increases, and safety guidelines can vary by location.
Conditions should begin to improve Sunday night as winds weaken and humidity levels recover. Until then, take precautions to help prevent wildfires and protect property.
