What: Sub-freezing temperatures dropping into the lower to mid 20s.
Where: Portions of northeast Georgia, Piedmont and western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.
When: 8 p.m. Monday through 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Impacts: Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, damage sensitive vegetation, and potentially harm unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. In-ground sprinkler systems should be drained. Remove hoses and cover above-ground pipes.
