Pollen, Air Quality & Soil Temperature Forecast

Wednesday, November 5, 2025 - 8:06am

Pollen:
Levels remain low this week thanks to dry conditions and cooler nights. Most pollen in the air is from lingering weeds and outdoor molds, but both are trending downward as we move deeper into fall.

Air Quality:
Air quality across Rowan County is good to moderate through the weekend, with light winds and plenty of sunshine keeping conditions favorable for outdoor activity. No widespread smoke or particle concerns are expected.

Soil Temperature:
Average soil temperatures across Rowan County are currently in the mid-50s, cooling gradually each night. With the stronger cold front arriving Sunday and overnight lows dropping into the 30s, soil temps will take a sharper dip early next week.

Looking Ahead:
Next Monday will likely be the final Pollen, Air Quality & Soil Temperature Forecast of the season, as a widespread freeze Monday night is expected to bring an end to local growing conditions.
