Tracking the Next Front: When Cooler Air Returns to Rowan County
By Rowan County Weather
After a stretch of bright, comfortable fall days, Rowan County’s weather is about to take a turn toward cooler conditions — but not before we enjoy one more mild and sunny week.
High pressure over the Carolinas is keeping skies clear and temperatures pleasant, with highs in the mid-60s today and low 70s by midweek. A light breeze will develop Wednesday, signaling a subtle shift ahead of the next change in our weather pattern.
By Friday night, a cold front approaches from the west, bringing a 50 percent chance of scattered showers into early Saturday. Most of the rain will be brief, and sunshine quickly returns behind the front for the weekend.
However, a stronger system arrives late Sunday, and this one will pack a colder punch. Behind it, temperatures are expected to drop sharply — with daytime highs returning to the 50s and overnight lows dipping into the 30s early next week.
It’s a classic November transition: warm and breezy ahead of the front, crisp and cool once it passes. Enjoy the next few sunny afternoons — because sweater weather will be back before you know it.
