Next Rain Chance Friday Night: What Models Are Showing So Far

Monday, November 3, 2025 - 7:39am

Rowan County will see its next chance for rain late this week as a weak front moves through the region Friday night into early Saturday. Forecast models continue to point toward a return of light to moderate showers to wrap up what will be a mostly dry and mild week across the area.

How Much Rain Could We See?

Most forecast models are indicating between a quarter and a half inch of rainfall across Rowan County. That’s not a washout by any means, but it’s a healthy soaking that could help settle the dust after several dry days. The higher totals are expected over the western half of the county, especially near the foothills, where slightly more moisture will be available as the front moves through.

Timing the Front

The first showers could arrive late Friday evening, with the best rain chances between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Showers should taper off around daybreak as the front moves east. Behind it, a cooler and drier air mass will move in, bringing back sunshine and noticeably lower humidity for the weekend.

A Look Ahead

Temperatures will stay seasonably warm through the end of the work week — highs in the upper 60s to near 70 — before dipping slightly behind the front. The pattern shift also signals that more typical November air could be setting up next week, with cooler mornings likely returning.
