Pollen, Air Quality, and Soil Temperature Forecast

Friday, October 31, 2025 - 7:36am

Pollen Levels:
Pollen levels remain low to moderate across Rowan County through the weekend. Ragweed and elm are the primary allergens, but cooler temperatures and recent rain have helped limit overall counts. Expect a brief uptick on Sunday with slightly warmer and breezier conditions before levels drop again early next week.

Air Quality:
Air quality continues to hold in the Good category for most of the area, with AQI readings between 25 and 40. Light winds and dry air will help maintain good ventilation across the region. No widespread smoke or particulate issues are expected.

Soil Temperatures:
Morning soil temperatures across Rowan County are running near 52 to 56 degrees, slowly cooling as we move deeper into fall. Expect a gradual drop into the upper 40s by mid to late next week. These cooler readings mark the beginning of the dormant period for lawns and many garden plants, so consider adjusting watering schedules and preparing garden beds for colder nights ahead.
