advertise your local business here »We are rapidly closing in on the end of the year and with the wildfires occurring to our west all of us are begging for rain for those wildfires. The alarming thing is how long it has been since it has rained and how dry we really are.
Currently we are on the 4th longest dry streak in Rowan County where we have not had a single drop of measurable rainfall occur at the airport for 34 straight days.The all time record is 38. We are on pace to pass that record and continue to stay dry unless we can get luck enough form rain late tomorrow and into early Thanksgiving morning.
November has been pretty horrid so far in terms of average temperature and rainfall. The average temperature for November currently stands at 7th warmest all time
Rainfall is non existent as we are currently experiencing the direst November on record for Rowan County
For the Fall season to this point we are currently having the 9th warmest Fall Season on record.
Rainfall has us in at the 27th driest Fall of all time with all of that coming late September and early October.
The Year to Date totals will leaving you feeling down right hopeless. This year so far is currently the warmest year on record for Rowan County.
This year is currently the 2nd driest year on record for Rowan County
With very little to no rainfall showing over the next 4-7 days we are getting into what could be a very serious situation from a drought perspective.
