Thursday, October 23, 2025 - 6:47am

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of the Piedmont and western North Carolina, including the Rowan County area. The advisory is in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM Friday.

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around 32 degrees, allowing frost to develop during the early morning hours.

What to Expect:

  • Frost formation likely late tonight through early Friday morning.

  • Sensitive outdoor vegetation could be damaged or killed if left uncovered.

What You Should Do:
Take precautions now to protect tender plants and any outdoor vegetation that could be affected by frost. Cover plants or bring them indoors if possible.

Clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to drop quickly overnight, making this the coldest morning of the fall season so far for much of the area.

Rowan County Weather will continue to monitor overnight conditions and share updates as needed.
