Pollen, Air Quality & Soil Temperature Forecast – Rowan County

Monday, October 20, 2025 - 7:56am

Pollen:
Pollen levels remain very low across Rowan County and the surrounding region. The fall allergy season is winding down, with little to no activity from trees, grasses, or weeds. Sensitive individuals may still experience mild irritation on breezy afternoons, but overall, outdoor conditions are favorable.

Air Quality:
Air quality remains in the “Good” range with AQI readings near 35–40 across the Charlotte metro area. There are no health concerns for outdoor activities today. Light winds and lower humidity are helping maintain clean, clear air across the Piedmont.

Soil Temperature:
Soil temperatures across central North Carolina continue to cool, now ranging from the mid-50s to near 60°F at a depth of 4 inches. Cooler nights this week will help bring those readings down further. These conditions signal the transition into the fall dormant period, a good time for overseeding cool-season grasses and applying mulch.

Summary:
Low pollen, good air quality, and steadily cooling soils make this one of the most comfortable and stable weather stretches of the season for outdoor activities, lawn care, and fall planting.
