At 7:36 PM, Doppler radar was tracking showers along a line extending from near Mocksville to east of Lincolnton to northeast of Gaffney, moving east at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured outdoor objects.
Locations impacted include:
Gastonia, Huntersville, Kannapolis, Salisbury, Lincolnton, Mocksville, Shelby, Statesville, and northwest Charlotte.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
If outdoors, seek shelter inside a building.
If on or near Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake, or Lake Wylie, move off the water immediately. Winds may be strong enough to capsize small boats.
Expect brief gusty winds and light to moderate rain as this line moves east into the area.
