Scattered showers and storms are expected this afternoon as a cold front moves through the Carolinas. While widespread severe weather isn’t expected, a few stronger storms could produce gusty winds around 30 to 40 mph and brief heavy rain.
The best chance for stronger storms will come late this afternoon into early evening before the front moves east.
Behind the front, skies will clear and cooler, drier air will move in with gusty northwest winds tonight.
The SPC outlook also includes areas from the central Appalachians into the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England for isolated severe storms later today and tonight.
Stay weather-aware this afternoon and monitor for any updated alerts or warnings across Rowan County.
