Mosquito activity remains moderate across Rowan County heading into the weekend. Cooler mornings are starting to limit mosquito breeding and activity, but lingering humidity and patchy evening dew still provide enough moisture for some to remain active, especially around shaded or damp areas.

  • Today: Moderate

  • Saturday: Moderate to Low

  • Sunday: Low

Peak Activity Times:
Mosquitoes remain most active around dusk and dawn, particularly in areas with standing water or dense vegetation. Cooler afternoon temperatures and breezy northeast winds will help reduce activity during the daytime hours.

Local Insight:
As we move deeper into October, overall mosquito populations will gradually decline, but until nighttime lows consistently drop into the 40s, some evening biting activity can still be expected. This weekend’s cloudy, mild conditions may briefly extend mosquito activity during the early evening hours.
