Pollen Forecast

With cloudy skies, showers, and a northeast breeze from Tropical Storm Imelda’s moisture, pollen levels will be low to moderate the next two days. Ragweed and mold spores are the main triggers right now. Levels will begin to tick back up by mid-to-late week once sunshine returns.

Air Quality Forecast

Air quality will remain in the Good to Moderate range for Rowan County. The easterly flow is helping keep pollutant levels lower, but fog and high humidity may make the air feel heavy at times, especially in the mornings. No widespread concerns for sensitive groups expected.

Soil Temperature Forecast

Thanks to cloud cover and cooler highs, soil temps are holding steady:

• Topsoil (4-inch depth): Mid–upper 70s°F

• Deeper soil (8-inch depth): Low–mid 70s°F

Moisture from recent showers will help maintain soil moisture, a positive for late-season gardening and fall planting. Expect a gradual dip into the upper 60s by late week as overnight lows fall into the 40s and 50s.
