Tropical Storm Humberto – several hundred miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands.

A tropical wave near the Dominican Republic is producing widespread showers and storms.

Heavy rain and gusty winds will impact Puerto Rico & Hispaniola today.

The system is forecast to slow down and turn northwest toward the Bahamas late this week.

A tropical depression is likely to form near the Bahamas.

Tropical Storm Humberto – Latest Discussion

Humberto remains a sheared tropical storm with winds near 40 knots (45 mph).

Forecast: Gradual strengthening expected. Once wind shear relaxes, Humberto is likely to become a hurricane this weekend and could reach major hurricane strength by early next week.

Track forecast remains uncertain due to its interaction with 94L. Some models take it farther east, others show a slower, westward motion.
