Hurricane Gabrielle
Gabrielle is located a few hundred miles southeast of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph. Strengthening is expected, and Gabrielle is forecast to become a major hurricane later today as it turns northward. The system will pass east of Bermuda.

Swells from Gabrielle are already reaching the East Coast of the United States from North Carolina northward, as well as Atlantic Canada. These swells will produce life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
Central Tropical Atlantic
A tropical wave west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing limited showers and thunderstorms. Dry air will limit development in the near term, but conditions should become more favorable mid-to-late week.

East of the Windward Islands
A tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Slow development is possible over the next several days as the wave moves quickly westward, then northwestward later this week. Gusty winds and showers are expected to reach portions of the Leeward Islands late tonight into Tuesday, regardless of development.
