A large area of showers and thunderstorms continues to organize around a broad low pressure system located about midway between the Windward Islands and the west coast of Africa.

• Conditions are favorable for development.

• A tropical depression or storm is likely to form in the next day or two as it moves WNW to NW at 10–15 mph.

• Formation chance:
  • 48 hours – High, 80%
  • 7 days – High, 90%

Eastern Tropical Atlantic
A tropical wave just moved off the west coast of Africa, producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

• Some slow development is possible later this week as it tracks west at 15–20 mph into the central Atlantic.

• Formation chance:
  • 48 hours – Low, near 0%
  • 7 days – Low, 20%
