The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning effective until 5:45 PM EDT for portions of the Piedmont, including:

Storm Details:
At 4:39 PM, radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms stretching from near Salisbury to areas north of Kannapolis, southeast of Statesville, and east of Lincolnton. These storms are moving southeast at 25 miles per hour.

Wind gusts up to 60 mph

These storms may arrive quickly with little warning and could result in downed trees, scattered power outages, and dangerous travel conditions.
