Rowan County Weather – Storm Alert Update
A cluster of strong thunderstorms is currently impacting portions of eastern Alexander, Iredell, southwestern Davie, and northwestern Rowan County, including parts of Cleveland and western areas of Rowan County. This activity is expected to continue through 10:00 PM EDT.
What’s Happening
As of 9:13 PM, Doppler radar detected storms along a line extending from northeast of Taylorsville to near Statesville, moving northeast at 25 mph. These storms are producing:

Wind gusts up to 50 mph

Gusty winds may knock down tree limbs or blow around unsecured outdoor items

Lightning strikes remain a serious threat, even outside the core of the storm
