Rowan County is starting June with a stretch of sunny skies, cool mornings, and seasonable afternoon highs — a refreshing break before the summer heat sets in.

This week’s forecast features daytime highs ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s, with overnight lows dipping into the 50s and low 60s. Monday’s high of 78° and morning low of 57° made for a crisp, comfortable start to the workweek — and we’ll see more of the same through Thursday.

By local standards, that’s just a tick below average. Early June typically sees:

• Average Highs: Around 82°F

• Average Lows: Around 61°F

So while this week isn’t dramatically cooler, it feels that way thanks to lower humidity, light winds, and calm nights under clear skies.
