
Rowan County Hits 85° – Hottest Day of the Year So Far
Rowan County, NC – April 4, 2025 — Residents across Rowan County felt the heat Friday as temperatures soared to a high of 85 degrees, marking the hottest day of the year so far.
This unseasonably warm weather arrived earlier than usual, giving locals a preview of what could be a hot spring and summer ahead. According to the National Weather Service historical data, today’s high is tied for the 3rd warmest April4th on record for Rowan County, with temperatures staying well above average throughout the afternoon.
Many took advantage of the sunshine, heading outdoors for walks, yard work, and early spring barbecues. Local parks saw increased activity, and ice cream shops reported a noticeable bump in business.
“It felt more like June than early April,” said Sarah Mitchell, a Salisbury resident enjoying the weather at Dan Nicholas Park. “We went from jackets to tank tops in a matter of days.”
