Rowan County, North Carolina, is experiencing an unseasonably warm start to April 2025, with temperatures approaching record highs.

While early April saw a storm system bringing rain and cooler temperatures to parts of the Southeast, Rowan County is about to be under the influence of warmer air masses, leading to a warmup.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service has issued warnings for potential severe weather and heavy rainfall across parts of the South through the weekend. While the most significant impacts are expected in areas like western Kentucky and northeastern Arkansas.

Historically, Rowan County experiences a humid subtropical climate, with hot, muggy summers and milder winters. The average high temperature in April is around 72°F (22°C), making the upcoming temperatures notably higher than usual.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during this period of elevated temperatures, such as staying hydrated.
